Project -The Heart of Compassion

Because Every Child Deserves to Live.

Compassion Charitable Trust (CCT), founded in 2001, is a humanitarian organisation dedicated to serving the poor, especially children living in slums, streets, and vulnerable communities. The Trust was born from the personal struggle of Dr. Sudhir Salvi, who lost his father at a young age and faced life’s challenges alone. His pain became his purpose, shaping a lifelong mission—to ensure that no child suffers without support, care, or opportunity.

For the past 25 years, CCT has worked tirelessly to uplift underprivileged children and families through education, nutrition, skill development, and relief services. Today, our greatest challenge is the alarming rise of illnesses among poor children who cannot access basic healthcare.

Our goal is to ensure that every poor and underprivileged child receives the medical care they deserve—without fear, without cost, and without being ignored. We want to restore the childhoods that sickness has stolen and bring healing where pain has lingered too long. Through this centre, we aim to give each child a chance to grow, dream, and live with dignity. Our goal is simple yet profound: no child should suffer just because they are born into poverty.

We aim to establish a fully equipped Healthcare Centre offering free or subsidised medical treatment, diagnostics, medicines, and preventive care for poor and slum-dwelling children. Our aim is to stand beside families who feel lost and powerless, bringing hope back into their homes. Above all, we aim to heal not just bodies, but hearts.

Treat 10,000+ children annually with essential healthcare.

  • Offer consultations, diagnostics, and medicines at no/low cost.
  • Conduct regular health camps in slum areas.
  • Provide nutrition support for malnourished children.
  • Build awareness among families about hygiene and disease prevention.
  • Maintain long-term follow-up for high-risk children.

Our objective is to reach thousands of slum children each year with timely and lifesaving healthcare so no illness goes untreated and no life is cut short. We want to provide medical consultations, tests, medicines, nutrition support, and emergency care to every child who walks through our doors. Another key objective is to conduct regular health camps in neglected communities, catching illnesses before they turn severe. We hope to empower parents with awareness, guidance, and confidence so that they no longer feel alone in their child’s suffering.

Year 1

  • Establish and fully equip the Healthcare Centre.
  • Recruit medical professionals and community health workers.
  • Launch weekly health camps in 10 slum clusters.
  • Treat the first 5,000 children.

Year 2

  • Expand services to include nutrition therapy and chronic illness management.
  • Serve 10,000+ children with consistent follow-up care.
  • Build structured referral tie-ups with 5 major hospitals.

Year 3

  • Launch a mobile healthcare unit for outreach in remote slum areas.
  • Begin mental health and counselling support for children.
  • Treat a cumulative 25,000+ children

Increasing Sickness Among Poor Children

Children in slums are exposed to conditions that accelerate disease:

  • Contaminated water and unhygienic surroundings
  • Malnutrition leading to weak immunity
  • Overcrowded homes spreading infections
  • Lack of awareness about hygiene
  • No financial ability to visit clinics or buy medicines

Most heartbreaking are the cases where parents notice symptoms but avoid hospitals due to fear of costs. Many children end up with severe complications simply because they are poor.
